After Thursday’s Iowa Caucuses, the two Leaders, Obama and Huckabee left Hillary Clinton behind.

Obama & Huckabee have differing views on the Iraq situation, one which will continue to be a hot topic for the 2008 Presidential race.

Whilst Obama has opposed the Iraq war from the beginning, it seems Huckabee will continue to change his stance as the polls suggest he should.

Obama, by contrast in true democratic style said in a debate last April :

“We’ve got to have a political solution, begin a phased withdrawal, and make certain that we’ve got benchmarks in place so that the Iraqi people can make a determination about how they want to move forward.”

Try and make some sense of this statement from Mike Huckabee’s official website:

“Withdrawal would have serious strategic consequences for us and horrific humanitarian consequences for the Iraqis. If we leave, Iraq’s neighbors on all sides will face a refugee crisis and be drawn into the war.”

Here’s a question I pose from Huckabee’s statement above:

If the yanks leave Iraq, will there infact still be a war in Iraq?

Obama is in good steed for the Democrats having taken 57 percent of the under-30 vote, according to CNN’s analysis of entrance polls.

Speaking to supporters, Obama called the night a “defining moment in history.”
