Boxer David Tua Wins Court Battle To Fire Managers
David Tua emerged as a winner today, but this time his victory was in court
After a long-wided court battle between David Tua and his mangers Martin Pugh and Kevin Barry, they have had a court decision on who calls the shot for the boxer.
Tua tried to end the relationship in 2003 however the managers claimed that he was legally bound to them.
Today’s decision in the High Court means that as of October 10th 2003, Tua was his own manager.
Tua still has ongoing financial disputes with his mangers, and is waiting on further court hearings.
In the 90’s Tua was shaping to be the best boxing contender New Zealand had put forward in a long time, but stepped out of his class too soon and suffered a massive defeat by Lennox Lewis.
