New Zealand Census 2006

  New Zealand Census 2006

The New Zealand Five Year Census 2006

Statistics New Zealand will conduct the next New Zealand Census of Population and Dwellings on Tuesday, 7 March 2006.

From the Department of Statistics website:

The census counts everyone who is in New Zealand on census night. Because everyone takes part, the census provides key information about our country.

Planning for the 2006 Census is well advanced.

There is information available about methodological changes, the development of content and outputs from the census results, the testing programme, and opportunities to work on the census.

According to the website New Zealand now has 4,122,546 people.

The New Zealand Census must be a darn sight easier to conduct than in other countries.

Our population is so insignificant that we could all just about line up on census night and wait for our names to be shouted out - just like roll-call in school!
