Violence Erupts in Palestine - Hamas and Fatah Exchange Gunfire
Political backlashes have occured as a result of Hamas’ massive landslide democratic election victory recently.
Hamas who is really an islamic terrorist organisation-come-political-party has formed a government, with a majority.
Scores of armed Fatah supporters have rioted in Gaza City and set fire to buildings and cars, and exchanged gunfire with Hamas military.
The defeat of Fatah in the election has caused factions within the supporters, some demanding the leaders of Fatah step down.
Some have even claimed that the Fatah leadership is in allegance with Israel.
As far as a State Of Israel goes, the view of the new Hamas “governmernt” is that the area should never be in the hands of non-Muslims.
Hamas have a record for their abuse of human rights, and have been officially labelled as terrorists by Canada, US, Israel, The EU.
I wonder if the EU [European Union] and the US will withdraw the considerable financial assistance they currently give Palestine?
Both the EU and the US have previously stated they would withdraw financial assitance if Hamas won the election.
It seems that peace in the region is further off than at first thought.
It’s interesting that with Arafat gone, there is more violence??? - Scary thought!
