The man first robbed the Post shop in the corner of Manners and Victoria streets at 3.45pm. He handed a note to the teller demanding cash.
He visited the National Bank twenty minutes later on the corner of Featherston and Grey Streets. This time he wrote a note while standing at the counter demanding cash from the teller. POlice said a small amount of money was taken from the robberies.
