Earthquake in Chile Measured 6.2 Caused Landslides & Large Waves
ONEMI, the Chilean government’s disaster agency reported on Saturday that large waves have been caused not by the earthquake directly, but rather large chunks of ground falling into the sea.
The earthquake struck at 1:53 p.m. ET, in Aisen, Chile, about 30 miles northwest of Coihaique, Chile, and about 820 miles south of the nation’s capital, Santiago.
