NZ: David Bain Freed on Bail After Serving 12 Years in Prison - Thanks to The UK Privy Council
After last weeks Privy Council Descision quashing questionable murder convictions on New Zealander, David Bain, Bain has now been freed on bail by a Christchurch High Court.
Thank God for the Privy Council, and I’m sure David Bain Would share this sentiment. The Privy Council in Britain was important to New Zealand as an Independant and impartial justice system to a country of only four million people.
What a pity Helen Clark and her communist Labour party, corruptly “railroaded” New Zealand into separating from the call of the council.
“Corrupt”? (those of you with first year legal or greater will be spitting out your latte’ through your nose!). Yes, corrupt I say. Where was the consultation with the public? There wasn’t any, despite a majority of people seemingl against the issue.
Why was this legislation rushed through when a more considered and consultative process should have been followed?
In any case, David Bain’s timing was impeccable in being one of the last New Zealand cases to be heard by the Privy Council.
This decision is proof that New Zealand’s move away from the Privy Council was yet another bad decision by our BZ Government.
