Keith Locke, of course is indicative of almost every Green party MP. That is to say… totally out of touch on world issues.

Keith Locke is calling on New Zealanders to demand Israel cease its “rein of terror” against Lebanon.

Locke, in his infinite wisdom, says “New Zealand should lead the way in denouncing the violence being carried out by Israel”.

I have no issue with Keith Locke being in support of peace in the middle east (from all parties), but anyone who has spent more than 5 minutes studying the history of the region knows this will NEVER happen.

To see innocent people killed on either side of the conflict is indeed tragic, however simply calling for a ceasefire from one side is pointless.

Perhaps Mr Locke should also focus on Palestine, Syria and the movements of Hamas and Hezbollah before denouncing “violence” on behalf of Israel who are clearly acting in self defence.

Does Mr Locke even know that the Arab states have basically declared a war on Israel, with the intention of “wiping Israel off the map”?

Does Mr Locke realise that Israel had previously given land in the Gaza and West Bank regions to these States, which are now using this same land to launch attacks on Israel?

Where was Keith Lockes concern for the Middle East when Iran announced it’s full scale production of enriched Uranium, or when Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad publicly stated that “Israel should be wiped off the map” ?

Mr Locke should realise (if he had an IQ higher than that of a boiled potato), that Lebanon needs to rid themselves of extremist movements like Hezbollah who have fired many hundreds of missles at Israeli cities, and abducted Israeli Soldiers, all from within Lebanon.

The mere fact that Lebanon has not even asked for International help with ridding themselves of the Hezbollah movement, makes a clear point about their stance on the issue.

Simply put, Keith Locke is a cretin, and not surprisingly - uninformed, like many Green MP’s
