Not Good News For Australian Prisoners Serving Long Sentences in Indonesia

Indonesia’s Attorney-General Hendarman Supandji, has all but ruled out the option of prisoner exchange between Indonesia and countries like Australia.

In an Octber2007 interview with The Age, Hendarman Supandji said in regard to Australian Prisoners not facing the death penalty;

 ”The possibility of them returning home to serve the remainder of their sentences has receded, with negotiations on a prisoner exchange treaty stalled.”

So much for the exchange deal the Australian Foreign Minister was banging on about.
