The H5N1 Avian Bird Flu Pandemic has Killed 100 people
H5N1 Avian or Bird Flu is the latest worry for world officials as the virus that began in South East Asia has “spread” to other countries.
As if it wasn’t dangerous enough already for poultry in Asia - the destruction of over 150 Million birds hasn’t seemed to curb the spread of this virus.
Chooks are one issue, but it started to get serious when it seemed that humans were dying from it also. According to the WHO (Not the band - World Health Organistaion) to date a little less than 100 people have died from this virus.
Can you now understand why so much panic is being expressed worldwide?
100 or so people have already died!
Of course AIDS only gets minimal press now having killed a mere 20,000,000 people, and roughly 38,000,000 million people living with it presently*
*Figures from Worldvision website: here
According to the WHO, people can become infected by coming into direct contact with infected poultry or their poo. As a precaution I myself have stopped all my contact with poultry, infected or otherwise. Im no longer playing with their poo either. Just in case…
Anyway I can only assume that the term “contact” in the above includes ingestion. As if I didn’t already have enough reason to quit eating KFC…

Is the recent media about H5N1 Avian Bird flu causing much ado about nothing? I mean honestly. The virus hasn’t been proven to spread from person to person. However many are claiming that H5N1 Avian Bird Flu is the big one - whatever that means.
