It seems that Muslims are being picked out when entering New Zealand, and some are subject to lengthy searches or inspections

I am not known for my political correctness, so here goes…

It is hardly surprising at the extra interest in Muslim people at airports. Afterall, the recent global terrorist acts have been commited by people with what in common? The Muslim Faith.

Being a Kiwi, (New Zealander), if I were to be searched at airports because recent terrorist acts had been carried out by Kiwis, I:

(a) Wouldn’t be surprised, and would likely be pissed with the small minority of Kiwis who had stuffed large amounts of plastic explosives inside souvenirs of flightless birds and boarded planes. - or whatever…

(b) Would accept that the only description customs officials would likely have, is to watch out for people from New Zealand wearing gumboots, and a black singlets for they might be likely terrorists.

Let’s hope that the global Muslim community starts to put public pressure on those nutter terrorist factions who are more than likely using Islam as a scapegoat for their obviously evil intentions.

I personally would feel alot more comfortable to see the local Muslim community publicly condem recent terrorism acts by “extremist factions”.

However it seems some pro-active Muslim Leaders in New Zealand are considering checks on new members to the like of Islamist Centres in an attempt to counter terrorist infiltration. Check out this article

With Muslims making up 20 + % of the world population, we are not going to solve the problem with minority extremist factions by alienating the majority.
