US Allies Pull Out of Iraq

US Allies Pull Out of Iraq

Two US Allies Will Begin Withdrawing Their Troops From Iraq By Mid-December.

Starting in December Bulgaria and Ukraine will begin to pull their combined force of nearly 1,300 troops out of Iraq.

It’s hard to imagine the 1,300 combined troops of Bulgaria & Ukraine making much of a dent in the remaining allied forces of over 150,000.

Nonetheless, these two US allies will be the first of many non-US troops to pull out of Iraq.

Other allies like Australia and Britain have mounting pressure at home to withdraw troops, placing increased pressure on Washington to start bringing more troops home.

It seems that Bush’s ’success plan’ is already dismissed as politcal garbage, and many seem to feel the war in Iraq is no longer necessary.
