Christmas Shopping in New Zealand
With only a few days before Christmas, I’m still waiting for the shopping malls to become jam-packed with shoppers looking for all the last minute goodies that so many buy.
The malls have been busy, but not as busy as they normally would.
It’s interesting to note that our Australian counterparts already are showing daily news items of shoppers on mad spending sprees, and even reports of ”Shoppers Rage”!
I wonder if the average New Zealander has had the recent rises in interest rates, petrol and road user taxes hit home.
OK, sure NZ interest rates were held at last review however I’m talking about the six or so consecutive rises that homeowners have had previously.
Could it just be perhaps, that many Kiwis are wisening upo to he madness of Christmas, and simply waiting to go mad at the Boxing Day sales instead??
