Kiwi Language 101: Speak Like A Sloppy Kiwi

The Kiwi language. If only we could learn to pronounce our words perfectly like the Americans - But without the accent!

Here’s a great example of the sloppy Kiwi pronounciation:

Word: PRODUCE

Sounds simple enough, one would think. Heres how a Kiwi would pronounce the above word.

Drop the pronounciation of the ‘D’ and substitue for a “J”.  The word then becomes:

Kiwi Word: PRO-JUICE

As if it were some kind of new sports drink!

Here’s a beaut! One the Australians give us grief for:

Word: BRISBANE (As in Queensland, Australia)

Substitute the “S” for a “Z”, and replace “bane” with “Bin” (As in rubbish Bin)

Kiwi Pronounciation: BRIZBIN
