A previous Vaughanwylie.com article made mention of armegeddon scenario with regard to turmoil within Pakistan’s political system.

Whilst alarmist, this scenario is not totally impossible, given the current Islamist climate.

What do I mean by “climate” ? 

Radical factions within the Muslim World, that were once a small minority in this otherwise peacefull religion seem to have grown in numbers, momemtum, and attention.

So much infact that people in the West have confused Islamists, with radicals, and considered all Muslims to be a threat, based on the intentions of the radicals.

This attitude is seen everywhere, from comments on internet forums and websites right through to print media, television, and foreign relations.

As one can imagine, this attitude has not gone un-noticed.

Question: Is it at all possible, the Western Culture is actually provoking a response from the Islamist Culture because of this blanket prejudice?

Could the West actually be helping convince more and more ‘regular’ Muslims to become radical?

Why continue to mention the Muslim influence? 

Surely plenty of other religions are represented in this country of roughly 170 Million?

Answer: A census held by the Pakistan International Bureau confirms that over 96% of the population are Muslim.

Fact: Billions of Dollars of US government aid sent to Pakistan has been diverted to make weapons against India, and others.

Fact: The Pakistani Government seem increasingly unable/unwilling to counter Taliban, and other radical activities.

Likewise, it seems increasingly plausible that some of these factions actually have ties with the Pakistani Governement.

Scary Fact: Pakistan Is Nuclear Capable with an estimated Arsenal Size (2005) of anywhere between  55 - 115 Weapons.

Here’s a great question from a New York Times Article:

Just how bad things could get in a country whose nuclear controls are just seven years old and have never been tested by chaos, street turmoil or a violent government overthrow?
