Woman Decieved Clinic

The Oldest Woman to Give Birth Decieved Clinic

A 67 year old gave birth to twins on the 29th of December, she decieved the doctors into giving her fertility treatment.

Carmela Bousada convinced a Los Angeles clinic she was 55, which is the cut off age for their in-vitro fertilisation programme.

Bousada said the clinic did not ask for proof of her age, and she also looked slimmer and younger before she was pregnant. She picked to donars of the egg and sperm out of a catalogue.

Carmela also went through hormone therapy, which allowed her to have her period for the first time in 18 years. It only took one attempt to get her pregnant.

Bousada believes she will live old like her Mother, who died at 101, and doesnt believe she will struggle raising twins.

On Sunday 28th January the 13th Screen Actors Guild Awards were held at the Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Centre.

The stars from Film and Television came out in there beautiful dresses and suits to present and hopefully win awards.

Death Caused by Anorexia

Young Brazilian Dies of Anorexia

A young Brazilian wannabe model has died due to her anorexia, in Rio. The young girl was only 14years old.

Her desire to become a model led her to extreme dieting to not eating at all. She weighed only 38kgs when she died.

In some countries such as Spain and Italy are banning super skinny models from the catwalk, in order to try and stop this viscous disease.

Few would venture into the water of the Amazon River as it is filled with snakes, crocodiles, piranhas and even sharks. But, Slovenian Martin Strel, 52 is planning to swim 5,431kms down this river.

Buckets filled with animal blood will be loaded onto boats to distract the dangerous fish during Strel’s 70 day journey.

The 52 year old man starts his swim on the 1st of February in Peru, and will finish in Brazil on April the 11th.

African Sex Beliefs

Police Look into African Sex Beliefs

Charlene Makaza, a ten year old Zimbabwean immigrant died in the early hours of January 7th 2007. She was found in her bed the day before unconscious and finding it hard to breathe, she did not regain consciousness.

Police have revealed that Charlene had been subjected to a violent sexual attack and had substantial injuries.

The Sunday-star times has said the police working on the case have been briefed on African sexual beliefs and practices. This includes Zimbabwe’s child sex abuse statistics and the myth that having sex with a virgin could cure aids.

Over 2000 people affected in Indonesian floods

Tragic floods in Indonesia kills dozens in Aceh and Sumatra

Floods in Indonesia

Heavy rain triggered flash floods and landslides in Indonesia just marking the two year anniversary of the Tsunami disaster in Asia.

Aceh and North Sumatra are the worst affected districts, where residents have been left stranded on higher ground as the flood has destroyed villages.

The death toll has reached 100 and is expected to rise as there are still thousands of people are reported missing. Emergency supplies, such as blankets, tents and food have been sent as well as soldiers to help Indonesia.

Police, soldiers and volunteers are still pulling bodies out of the wreckages and mud thirty six hours after the flood hit. It has been said that over 2500 buildings have been destroyed and the death toll is expected to rise when the rubble from the buildings is cleared.

Flooding in Indonesia in an annual problem. This can also be added to the fact that the countries coastlines are exposed due to illegal logging which takes place in Indonesia.



Bono revieves honourary knighthood

U2 star Bono revieves Honourary British Knighthood

Irish rock star and rights campaigner Bono, has been awarded an honourary British Knighthood. This honour is in recognition of his services to the music industry and for all the humanitarian work he does.

Bono is said to be very flattered and hopes the honour opens doors for his campaign about the extreme poverty in Africa. Bob Geldolf (also an Irish rocker) recieved the same award, also for human rights in 1986.

British Prime Minister Tony Blair, has said that he is delighted that Bono has accepted this high award. Honourary Knighthoods are awarded to those who are non-British nationals.



Godfather of soul dies at 73 - James Brown

James Brown the “Godfather of soul” dies aged 73

James Brown died early Monday (25th December) morning as a result of heart failure at a hospital in Atlanta , Georgia. Brown was seventy three years old.

Brown was hospitalised on Sunday as he was suffering from a severe pneumonia. His close friend, Charles Bobbit was said to have been at his bedside when he passed away in the early hours of the morning. Read more about…
