Forgetfull Robber Makes Getaway
On Monday Police from Palmerston North released video footage of a man wanted for aggraveted robbery of a Mobil pertrol station on pioneer road, which took place early last Wednesday morning.
The man was armed with a iron bar and he demanded cigerettes and cash. He was in full view of the security camera, then all of a sudden he remembered to pull up his bandanna over his face.
Detective Glen Jackson told 3 News. “His method of operation suggests he is not security camera-savvy….or maybe has not committed a lot of offences of this nature,”

Teen on Trial
Teen on Trail For Killing A 16 Year old
The Trial of a Turangi teenager who has been accused of murder started today in the High Court in Rotorua. There was a delay in the start of the trial because the prosecution raised an issue over one of the jurors.
The Teenager accused of the murder could not be legally named at the time becasue she was only 16, she is now 27 but has been granted name suppression. The 17year old has pleaded not guilty to stabbing Melissa Moana Puhi, 16, in Turangi on May 13, 2006.
The selected jury consists of eight women and four men, and the trial is expected to last for three weeks.

Man Arrested
Man Arrested For Threatening To Blow Up House
A 57 year old Khandallah man was arrested last night as he threatened to blow up his partners house.
A phonecall to the police was made around 9:30pm after the man threatened to blow up his partners house using gas from LPG barbecue containers and the oven.
A police spokesman said the man would appear in Wellington District Court today facing charges of criminal nuisance and attempted arson.

Tourist Attacked
Tourist Attacked in Camp Toilet Block
An English female tourist was attacked in early hours of this morning by a knife weilding sex attacker in a cam public toilet. Luckily, she managed to fend him off at the Kaikoura motor camp.
Police have said the 23year old was sexually assulted in the 3am attack in a toilet cubicle at the A1 Motor Camp.
The woman has suffered an injury to her hand while fending off the man. The attacker is beleived to be a caucasian believed to be aged in his 20s. He was descirbed as about 180cm tall, with brown hair, and was wearing shorts, a T-shirt and work boots.
A police spokeswoman said “detectives from Blenheim and Christchurch, together with forensic experts from Environmental Science and Research, were travelling to Kaikoura to assist in the hunt for the man”.

Priest and Nuns Jailed
Priest and Nuns Jailed for Exorcism Death
An Orthodox Priest and four Nuns have been sentenced to Jail in a Romanian Court on Monday for killing a 23 year old Nun in a crucifixion exorcism ritual in the cellar of a church.
The Nun, Maricica Irina Cornici spent the last three days of her life tied to a cross without food or water in the northeastern county of Vaslui. During this time the Priest and the Nuns were prayed to chase the evil out of her. This took place in June 2005.
The Priest, “Corogeanu is sentenced to 14 years in prison for deprivation of freedom followed by the victim’s death,” a judge reading the sentence on private television Realitatea TV said.
The Church’s Mother superior got sentenced to eight years in prison, while the other three Nuns got five years each.

2Bank Hold ups in 20 Minutes
Man Holds Up Two Banks in 20 Minutes
A man held up two banks in Wellington yesterday, within twenty minutes of eachother, and police are still looking for him.
The man first robbed the Post shop in the corner of Manners and Victoria streets at 3.45pm. He handed a note to the teller demanding cash.
He visited the National Bank twenty minutes later on the corner of Featherston and Grey Streets. This time he wrote a note while standing at the counter demanding cash from the teller. POlice said a small amount of money was taken from the robberies.

14Year Old Girl Faces Hold Up Charge
A Girl Of 14 Held Up a Bank
A girl of 14, wearing an All Blacks supporters’ mask and waving an imitation pistol held up the ASB at Hawera. She appeared in Court yesterday morning and was charged with aggravated robbery with an offensive weapon.
Detectives are still looking for $12, 000 of the money that was stolen, even though three people have been charged with the daylight robbery.
Because of her age, the girl cannot be named. There is clear images of her on the banks security footage, where she is holding a sheet over the fake gun and pointing it at a teller.
Two other men have been charged in connection with the robbery; Conrad Dawson, 26 and Matene Wilson-Tipa, 18. Both men have been charged with being party to being armed with an offensive weapon.

League Star Stabbed
Kiwi League Star Stabbed in Brawl

Frank Pritchard, New Zealand and Penrith Panthers rugby league star might face charges in a brawl in South west Sydney early yesterday morning.
Twenty-year-old Tom Pritchard, Franks younger brother was stabbed in the heart and other several places, and is now in critical condition in Liverpool Hospital. It is also understood that Frank was stabbed in the thumb during the fight and has has surgery.
Police were called to a block of units at Liverpool where it is believed a noise complaint triggered the encounter between members of the Pritchard family and party-goers in a nearby unit.
11 people are being question by police over the incident this includes members of the Pritchard family. No Charges have been made.

Asian Assassin Jailed
Asian Assassin Jailed for Aleast 17 years
Wan Yee Chow, 55, was jailed for life with a minimum of 17years without parole, he was sentenced to day at the High Court in Auckland. He is a hitman who killed a Triad enforcer with a single shot in the chest in July last year.
Tam, who was a long-time criminal and triad enforcer, was shot dead outside his karaoke bar in Symonds Street, Auckland. Chow drove all the way from the Hutt Valley to Auckland to kill Tam and was dressed in all black and black head gear, then he shot Mr Tam.
Tam had arrived in New Zealand in the late 1980’s and he was a wife beater. His wife retaliated to the beatings by drugging him and hitting him with a meat cleaver. She was not charged with attempted murder as she suffered from battered woman syndrome.
