Teen on Trail For Killing A 16 Year old

The Trial of a Turangi teenager who has been accused of murder started today in the High Court in Rotorua. There was a delay in the start of the trial because the prosecution raised an issue over one of the jurors.

The Teenager accused of the murder could not be legally named at the time becasue she was only 16, she is now 27 but has been granted name suppression. The 17year old has pleaded not guilty to stabbing Melissa Moana Puhi, 16, in Turangi on May 13, 2006.

The selected jury consists of eight women and four men, and the trial is expected to last for three weeks.

James Brown the “Godfather of soul” dies aged 73

James Brown died early Monday (25th December) morning as a result of heart failure at a hospital in Atlanta , Georgia. Brown was seventy three years old.

Brown was hospitalised on Sunday as he was suffering from a severe pneumonia. His close friend, Charles Bobbit was said to have been at his bedside when he passed away in the early hours of the morning. Read more about…

Poor Steve Irwin. After dealing with crocodiles and poisonous snakes, a stingray barb through the heart is truly a bizarre way to go.

Despite some of the negative commentry about Steve Irwin’s animal antics I believe he was truly a hero.

Steve Irwin championed the unity of the world of nature and human world and bought it onto the TV screen for young and old alike.

His passion and enthusiasm must surely have been a catalyst to his success, and also an inspiration to many.

Hone Watson, (the Australian equivalent of New Zealand’s dirt-digging Rodney Hyde) has indeed broken an incredible story regarding a top internet dating site.

Apparently the dating site has been stealing profile photos from Myspace.com users and then using the photos in advertisements.

Incredible. Surely the users fallen victim to this have a right to claim conpensation?

I don’t know where the company is based but if it is in the US….then CHING CHING CHING!

Hone states that he “cant say for sure that the profiles were stolen”, but does indeed provide some alarming evidence.
