Dolphin Recieves First Artificial Fin

A japanese aquarium is training a dolphin to use an artificial fin, the first one in the world.

The dolphin is 37 years old and is named Fuji and this fin will save her life. Fuji suffered from a life threatening disease which saw 75% of her Tail fin to rot.

Fuji’s disease forced the aquarium to amputate 75% of her tail fin, in order to save her life. The worlds first artificial fin is made out of the same rubber material which is also for formula one cars tyres.

The Manufacturer Bridgestone, donated the flippers to the Okinawa aquarium, who perfected the invention in an $120 000 project.
